As of June 1, Curt’s Café consolidated its two Evanston locations and will be operating longer hours and serving more young adults at the North Location at 2922 Central Street. Currently, the Café is open until 3:30 PM and by adding late afternoon/early evening hours, more young women (most of whom are attending high school) will be able to attend the program.
Here is what one Curt’s student had to say that captured the day in words,
All day, it was a feeling of being free, out in the fresh air, out of the city. We weren’t judged, hated upon or looked at and feeling uncomfortable. Just pure joy.
This year, Niles Township High School District 219’s Dance Marathon (DM) was a huge success raising money for Curt’s Café and the district’s Education Foundation. The culminating event was held on Saturday, May 18 at Niles North High School. p.m.
Join Central Pizza Pie for Sunday lunch. We hope for even more people for our next Pop-Up on Sunday, March 10th, raising funds for dear evanston and Curt’s, too.

In six years I have never written a “Letter from the Founder” or even been compelled to. But I felt compelled to write today after receiving a text from my daughter.
Though the journey has not always been easy for our students, our professionals and volunteers have consistently offered a helping hand to the under-served young adults who are committed to positively changing their futures. A carefully structured program of work and life skills is augmented by love and true caring—and the students have eagerly responded! Our students aren’t “projects,” but people and they know that we believe in each and every one of them!
