Q & A with Maureen Sweeney.

What drew you to Curt’s?

After many years of dealing with cancer, I am now cancer-free and ready to get more involved in the community again. Curt’s was an obvious choice for me because of its mission and the wonderful young people I met who were working there. I live near Curt’s and have enjoyed eating there for years.

What do you like most about volunteering?

Volunteering gives me a chance to give back, allows me to meet new people, and learn new skills.

Where do you live?

I live in Skevanston, just south of Golf Rd.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love to spend time with my wife. We enjoy going for walks, getting together with friends, watching a good movie, and going out to dinner. I am learning to be a good cook and enjoy getting better at that. I took up clarinet a year ago and am also enjoying improving my clarinet skills.

Dogs or Cats?

We have one cat now after many years of having both dogs and cats.

Yoga or Pilates?

I love reformer Pilates and am grateful to have a great studio within walking distance of my home, Engage Pilates.
