Karli M. Butler

Director of Social Services

“I am at Curt’s Café because I believe in its mission. I am committed to empowering young women with the tools and information they need to make healthy choices for themselves. I try to meet each of them where they are and serve as both a guide and resource for them.   I am inspired by their ambition, resilience, and resourcefulness, and  am always excited to hear about the great things they accomplish after Curt’s.”

A graduate of Evanston’s  Citizen Police Academy, Karli has also served as a mentor and  crime victim advocate, with training in domestic violence and sexual trauma.   Holding a B.A. in Communication and a M.A. in Multicultural Communication, she is also a certified peer supporter of the Univ. of Chicago Hospital’s Survivors Offering Assistance in Recovery Program and is a trained Circle Keeper with Restorative Justice Evanston.
