Ashor Jajou
Director of Social Services
A shor Jajou is Curt’s Director of Social Services. Ashor joined Curts as the Director of Social Services in December 2024. He earned his Bachelor of Social Work at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU, class of 2014) and his Master of Social Work at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC, class of 2015). Ashor is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Ashor was a Social Service Provider at Curts from 2016 until the end of 2019. He taught at Oakton Community College (Skokie, IL.) for one semester and then began teaching in the Social Work Program at Northeastern Illinois University in January 2018 and continues to teach there currently.
Ashor has worked with youth and young adults throughout the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs since starting college in 2010. Ashor has experience working with trauma informed care, underserved populations, and young adults utilizing both prevention and intervention methods to reduce recidivism. Ashor believes that most barriers can be overcome through educational/vocational attainment and mentorship for young adults who have encountered the justice system. In 2022 Ashor created a college course called Recidivism and Reentry from Social Work Perspectives, which is an elective course at Northeastern Illinois University’s Social Work Program.
Ashor is a first generation college graduate and came to Chicago in 1982 at the age of six years old with his family as “refugees”.
